HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.2 Logical Server Management User Guide

Use this storage type to ensure that managed arrays in SPM
are returned as candidates.
SAN Pre-populated Catalog Storage
Pool Entry (Server with Virtual
Connect logical servers only)
Allows you to select storage that was preconfigured in HP
Storage Provisioning Manager. All volumes are already
presented to WWNs, and the WWNs are displayed with
the volumes. Add a volume, select a candidate for the
volume and a storage port WWN, and the rest of the
information is filled in automatically.
Use this storage type to ensure that unmanaged arrays in
SPM are returned as candidates.

You can define your logical server storage configuration in the following ways:
“Create a storage entry” (page 46) when you create a logical server.
A storage entry is associated with one logical server. You create a storage entry using the
CreateLogical Server... Storage Configuration screen, and modify it using the ModifyLogical
Server... storage tab.
“Create a storage pool entry” (page 50) before or after you create a logical server, and
associate it with the logical server.
Each logical server can be associated with multiple storage pool entries. Multiple logical
servers can share the same storage pool entry.
You create and modify storage pool entries using ModifyLogical Server Storage Pools....
You can also create a storage pool entry by inserting a storage entry into the storage pool.
