Enabling template access restrictions in HP Insight Orchestration
Insight Orchestration supports template access restrictions on a per user basis. This feature is
disabled by default. If you do not modify the properties file, all users will see all templates.
To enable template access restrictions, edit the file in the default location at C:\Program Files\
HP\Insight Orchestration\conf\hpio.properties, and set
template.access.restricted = true. After access restrictions are enabled, only users
assigned to a template will be able to see and use the template.
Enabling HP Insight Orchestration Operations Console after upgrade
After an upgrade from Insight Orchestration 1.0x to 6.1, you may encounter an authorization
error accessing the Insight Orchestration Operations Console. This error occurs because the
hpio.properties file is incorrectly using port 50000 as the web service port for Systems Insight
Manager.
This issue affects only upgrades from Insight Orchestration 1.0x to 6.1. Upgrading Insight
Orchestration 6.0x to 6.1 is not affected.
After the upgrade is complete, edit the file in the default location at C:\Program Files\HP\
Insight Orchestration\conf\hpio.properties. Change the cms.webservice.port
property from 50000 to 50002. Restart the Insight Orchestration service.
Manually back up and restore Insight Orchestration and logical servers files that are
not migrated during data migration
During data migration in which a source CMS is moved to a target CMS, all logical servers tables
in the database are migrated. However, properties files are not migrated.
In addition, Extensible Server & Storage Adapter (ESA) and Operations Orchestration workflow
(OOWF) .xml files that are used by HP Insight Orchestration to identify DL and non-HP servers
are not migrated.
Before you begin the data migration process, HP recommends that you copy the following files
to a safe location. After migration completes, but before the services are restarted or the CMS is
rebooted, copy the following files (shown in their default locations) from the source CMS to the
target CMS.
C:\Program Files\HP\Virtual Server Environment\conf\esa.properties
C:\Program Files\HP\Virtual Server Environment\spm\
HP.Arcadia.ServerWindowsService.exe.userconfig
C:\Program Files\HP\Virtual Server Environment\spm\state\Catalog.bin
