sections in this document.

Upgrading the server workflows

After upgrading from one version of HP Matrix Operating Environment to another, the administrator will typically also

want to upgrade the server workflows. This step should be done after successful upgrade of Matrix OE itself.

Upgrading the server workflows from one version of Matrix OE to a later version may require additional steps to be

performed. The upgrade procedures will differ based on the version of Matrix OE being used. Prior to the Insight

Dynamics 6.3 release, ESA can only work with the corresponding version of server workflows. This was due to the

ESA version dependency in the workflows. In Insight Dynamics 6.3, this dependency has been removed.

As noted, the actual upgrade of server workflows can be done only after successful upgrade of newer version of

Matrix OE on the CMS server. For a few Matrix OE releases there are ESA specific patches which need to be

applied on the CMS server. The list of patches detailed in the section “Upgrading ESA”.

The upgrade procedure is almost the same for both the local and remote OO server deployment scenarios. The

subsections below explain the details of preparation and actual upgrade steps required on various deployment

scenarios.

Prior to Insight Dynamics 6.3 Release

If the upgraded Insight Dynamics version is from 6.3 or earlier, the existing server workflows need to be removed.

Follow the steps below:

 Start OO Studio, and login as Admin

 On the left panel, expand the folder Library\Hewlett-Packard

 Select the ESA folder

 Right click on the ESA folder and select “Delete” operation.

 A warning dialog appears:

 Select “Yes”
