HP Insight Dynamics 6.0 Update 1 Release Notes

New in this release:
— Support of HP Integrity VM Version 4.1 (in addition to earlier versions of Integrity VM
that are still supported).
— Support for initiating and monitoring the status of virtual machine migration (online
and offline). Online virtual machine migration enables moving a running virtual
machine, along with its guest operating system (OS) and its applications, to a different
VM Host without service interruption. Service remains active without requiring an OS
reboot or application restart.
— Enhanced support for HP Serviceguard. Certain VM Manager tabs indicate whether a
virtual machine participates as an HP Serviceguard package; flyover text indicates the
VM Host actively managing the virtual machine (Serviceguard guest package). In
addition, if a virtual machine is configured as a Serviceguard package, VM Manager
displays the name of the Integrity VM multiserver environment (MSE) group. This
grouping is required when a set of Integrity VM servers is also configured as a
Serviceguard cluster. Virtual machines configured as Serviceguard packages
automatically fail over to another node in the Integrity VM MSE.
— Support for removing network or storage devices from a virtual machine.
VM Manager can now start, restart, stop, and delete virtual machines that are configured
as HP Serviceguard packages. VM Manager uses its ability to detect whether a virtual
machine is controlled by Serviceguard and then implements the appropriate
Serviceguard commands to perform the actions.
Logical server management
Logical servers, included in HP Insight Dynamics for ProLiant and non-HP servers, are
managed within Virtualization Manager and, when activated, are applied to the creation of
a virtual machine using hypervisor-based software or to a bare-metal server blade using
HP Virtual Connect technology. Logical servers have been enhanced in this release to provide
expanded technology support and ease-of-use features. The logical servers feature in
Virtualization Manager runs on an x86/x64 Windows CMS.
— Expanded technology support
HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.1 PK3: Import, live move, unmanage, and power
on and off an HP Integrity VM logical server. (Other operations on Integrity VM
logical servers are not supported in this release.)
Hypervisors: VMware vSphere 4.0 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with
Hyper-V.
BL2x220c Multi-Server Blades
Technology preview: HP Storage Provisioning Manager (SPM) with SAN storage
integration
— New Virtual Connect features:
Multi-initiator NPIV Multiboot
Flex-10 (Bandwidth Carving)
VLAN trunking, which allows multiple virtual networks to be transmitted over a
single network link
