Management Support Matrix.
Hardware
Operating system
• The Operating system of the CMS is a supported
version listed in the HP Insight Management Support
Matrix. If it is not, see the documentation for
information regarding upgrading the operating
system to a supported version.
• For Windows 2008 SP2/R2/R2 SP1 and Windows
2012/2012 R2, user account control (UAC) is
disabled.
To turn off User Account Control on Windows Server
2008 R2/R2 SP1:
1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel, and then
select System and Security, and then select Action
Center.
2. Select Change User Account Control settings.
3. In the User Account Control settings window, drag
the slider control up to Never notify.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Restart this computer .
To turn off User Account Control on Windows Server
2008 SP2 :
1. From the Start menu, and then select User Accounts.
2. In the User Account window, click Turn User Account
Control on or off.
3. Clear the User Account Control (UAC) check box to
protect your computer.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Restart Now.
To turn off User Account Control on Windows Server
2012/2012 R2:
1. Run the secpol.msc command.
2. Expand Local Policies.
3. Click Security Options.
4. Set the policy User Account Control: Run all
administrators in Admin Approval Mode to Disabled.
5. Click Restart Now.
Disable any anti-virus software installed on the CMS.
Some Insight Management products might fail to install
Anti-virus software
if anti-virus software is running during the installation
process
HP SIM does not have to be preinstalled on the CMS
before you begin.
Systems Insight Manager
The length of the CMS host name must be between 2
to 15 characters. The Systems Insight Manager does
CMS host name
not accept more than 15 characters for the host name.
If the host name is more than 15 characters long, only
use the first 15 characters when logging into Systems
Insight Manager.
Any additional software installed on the CMS satisfies
the software requirements listed in the HP Insight
Management Support Matrix.
