HP Insight Management 7.3 Update 1 Support Matrix

Table 6 CMS management capabilities
Maximum configuration on an x64 CMSItem
Number of managed systems (physical
servers and virtual machines)
Systems Insight Manager: 5,000
Insight Control: 5,000
Matrix OE
2,500 for a single CMS
Federated configuration for a larger number of managed nodes:
Limits when all logical servers are ProLiant managed nodes:
1 primary CMS and up to 4 secondary CMSs
2,500 nodes for each secondary CMS
2,000 nodes for the primary CMS
12,000 nodes maximum across primary and secondary CMS resource pools
Limits when all logical servers are Integrity managed nodes:
1 primary CMS and up to 4 secondary CMSs
1,500 nodes for each secondary CMS
700 nodes for the primary CMS
6,000 nodes maximum across primary and secondary CMS resource pools
Insight managed system setup wizard: 1,500
15 concurrent users who are running general operations and one administrator taskConcurrent users on the Systems Insight
Manager console
Virtual Machine host counts can vary greatly because of the load factors of VMs on hosts.
The virtual machine guest/host count is limited only by the overall supported limits of
managed systems for HP SIM, Insight Control, and Matrix OE.
Virtual machine hosts
HP has qualified 70 virtual machine hosts through one CMS with Insight Control and
Matrix OE functionality.
Simultaneous analysis of 3,000 managed systemsMonitoring (by Systems Insight
Manager and Insight Control

5,000 managed systems; 300 monitored PDUs/PDRsPower management
Supports up to 2,500 disaster recovery-protected logical servers in a two-site configuration
for VC-hosted and/or VM-hosted. Of the total of 2,500 logical servers there is a maximum
of 500 physical (VC-hosted) and 1500 Hyper-V VM-hosted logical servers.
Disaster recovery
Example 1
1. 2000 ESX VM-hosted logical servers and 500 VC-hosted logical servers
2. 2200 ESX VM-hosted logical servers and 300 VC-hosted logical servers
3. 2500 ESX VM-hosted logical serves
4. 1500 Hyper-V VM-hosted logical servers
5. 750 Hyper-V IO services each configured with 2 logical servers and 250 VMware
IO services each configured with 2 logical servers, and 500 VC-hosted logical servers
NOTE: Matrix recovery management supports only virtual machines when provisioning
with IO services.
In a Federated Environment, Matrix recovery management is only supported on a
primary-federated CMS at both the primary and DR sites. In other words, Matrix recovery
management is not supported on a secondary-federated CMS. For additional information,
see the HP Matrix Operating Environment Recovery Management User Guide.
