HP Storage Provisioning Manager (SPM) version 2.3 User Guide

Viewing and modifying network settings (Overview tab)
The Overview tab displays the basic properties of the network:
Tags—Any tags that the administrator has added to the network.
Management URL—The URL at which the network device manager may be found.
UUID—The persistent unique identifier for the network (typically the Name of the Fabric).
Last Resync—The time at which the network was last resynchronized with the underlying
network device manager.
Online—True if SPM is able to communicate with the underlying network device manager and
False otherwise.
Quarantine—The current state of quarantine for the network.
Product Name—The name of the underlying networking product.
Zoning State—Current zoning state of the network. Possibilities include:
Open which means that any device on the network can see any other device.
Zoned which means that devices on the network need to be included in the same zone
or they cannot see each other.
Unknown is a bad state that requires the reconfiguration of the networking switches
involved. This state is unusual but can sometimes occur on the underlying switches on the
network as a result of incorrect configurations on the part of the storage administrator
when the network was originally configured and is not controlled by SPM.
NOTE: For unmanaged networks, SPM uses the content of the unmanaged network XML file
to determine the state of the network. It is the storage administrator’s responsibility to ensure
that the file correctly indicates the state of the actual network, consequently the network
configuration changes should be made prior to adjusting the XML files.
To view or modify the basic settings of a network:
1. In the Navigation tree, select ResourcesNetworks.
The list of available networks appears in the content pane.
2. In the content pane, select the network.
The properties for the selected network are displayed.
3. Click the Overview tab.
The basic settings are displayed.
4. To edit these settings, click Network Actions then select the Edit Network option.
The Edit Network window appears.
5. On the Overview tab, make any necessary changes. When all changes are complete, click
Apply. If additional changes are required on other tabs, click the appropriate tab. When
finished, click OK.
Viewing connected arrays (Connected Arrays tab)
The Connected Arrays tab shows two content panes.
The top pane shows the arrays which are connected to the selected network and the basic details
of each array. The number of connected arrays is always visible in the title of the Connected Arrays
tab. To see more detailed information about the individual array, click the name of the array to
go directly to the array's resources pane.
