HP Storage Provisioning Manager (SPM) version 2.3 User Guide

Table 5 WWN pattern examples (continued)
Any WWN begining with the sequence AB:CD may
be a part of a network containing this pattern. SPM
AB:CD*abcd*
will add colons as necessary when they are not
specified.
Any WWN containing the sequence 1:23:4 may be
a part of a network containing this pattern. SPM
respects colons specified by the user.
*1:23:4**1:23:4*
Any WWN containing the sequence 12:34 may be
a part of a network containing this pattern. SPM
respects colons specified by the user.
*12:34**12:34*
If a user specifies consecutive colons, SPM regards
this as an improper pattern.
Error12::34*
If a user specifies colons in a way that does not put
two hexadecimal characters in each grouping, SPM
regards this as an improper pattern.
Error1:23:4*
SPM converts lower-case letters to upper case and
inserts colons as needed to ensure that patterns will
12:34:56:78:90:AB:CD*12345678:90abcd*
match WWNs that are canonicalized in the form
xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
SPM allows patterns that do not include any wild
cards. This is functionally the same as specifying an
endpoint.

Importing an existing unmanaged network
1. Select Import Networks from the Networks Pane.
If XML files defining unmanaged networks are in the appropriate location within the SPM state
folder, the option to import Existing Unmanaged Storage Networks will be presented in the
Choose Network Type pane. Choose that network type, and click Next.
NOTE: Matrix users using complex networks must manually create XML files describing those
networks and place them in the appropriate folder before attempting to import networks.
2. Select the desired unmanaged network from the Import Networks screen, and click Next.
The Network Properties screen is displayed.
