The LUN value is invalid because VSA is enabled

• Possible Cause:

– When a VSA enabled port is used while presenting a LUN, the given LUN number (in hexadecimal value) is not valid or

not in sequence:

• The decimal numbers assigned for LUN numbers are converted into corresponding hexadecimal values. EMC

expects these values to be in sequence while presenting multiple LUNs to the same host.

• If VSA is enabled on a port, the hexadecimal value of the assigned LUN number should have its last digit in the range

0-7 if using Matrix 7.2.x.

• Suggested Actions:

– Contact the EMC administrator to get the next available LUN number to be assigned in sequence for a given port.

– Ensure that the hexadecimal value of the LUN number being assigned is in the range 1 – 7 if using Matrix 7.2.x. See the

note in the earlier Limitations section for more details.
