Virtual machine hosts are in different subnets
For Microsoft Hyper-V servers, the Unable to register the VM / Fail to share the
destination VM folder error message appears in the log file if either of the following occurs:
The source and destination Microsoft Hyper-V server hosts are in different subnets.
The destination folder on the virtual machine host cannot be shared.
Matrix Operating Environment
Matrix Operating Environment data collection fails on Windows agentless CMS
Data collection for Matrix Operating Environment fails on a Windows 2008 (agentless) CMS in
an IPv6 network when the IPv6 is disabled on the CMS.
Suggested Action: Ensure that the IPv6 is enabled on the CMS, when the CMS is hosted on an IPv6
network.
Upgrading
Issues upgrading or running HP Matrix Operating Environment
If there are issues with managed systems running HP Matrix Operating Environment, including
unsuccessful license upgrades, run the Insight managed system setup wizard to diagnose and
repair existing problems.
Suggested action: Run the Insight managed system setup wizard. In the Systems Insight Manager
window, select ConfigureManaged System Setup Wizard...
Upgrading to Insight Software 3.1 -> Insight Software 6.3 -> Insight
Management 7.3 fails to launch HP SIM
After upgrading from Insight Software 3.1 -> Insight Software 6.3 -> Insight Management 7.3, the
HP SIM page fails to open up. The HP SIM’s keystore file hp.keystore located at [HP SIM]\
config\certstor is corrupted, and all the contents of the file are lost, the file size turns out to
be 0 bytes.
Suggested Action: As a resolution, replace the HP SIM’s keystore, hp.keystore file, present at
a different location, that is, C:\hp\sslshare (for Windows), and /etc/opt/hp/sslshare/
(for Linux and HP-UX) to the [HP SIM]\config\certstor location.
Upgrading HP Insight Control virtual machine management to Insight
Management 7.3 from versions prior to Insight Software 6.0
To upgrade to Insight Management v7.3 from versions prior to Insight Software v6.0, you must
first upgrade to Insight Software 6.x, and then proceed with upgrading to Insight Management
7.3 upgrade. Before the upgrade, ensure that any ESX templates that were created in the Insight
Software versions prior to 6.0 are converted using the Tool menu (DeployVirtual Machine
BackupsUpgrade Backups on ESX, and then DeployVirtual Machine TemplatesUpgrade
Templates on ESX). Failure to do this results in the templates being not usable after the upgrade to
Insight Management v7.3.
Unwanted VCEM popup seen during upgrade from 7.2.2 to 7.3 on Windows
2012.
During an upgrade of HP Insight Management from 7.2.2 to 7.3 version on Windows 2012
system, the following VCEM popup appears on the screen:
