HP Capacity Advisor 7.2 User Guide

Analysis queries table
The predefined analysis queries, and any queries you create, are listed in a table below the server
and data range selector.
Use the table to see the analysis queries that you own (private) or that are available to all (public).
(All predefined queries are public.)
Table 8 Analysis queries table
DescriptionColumn heading
Select a particular query in order to use a menu action (such as Open) on that query.
Selecting an analysis query displays the results of the query at the bottom of the screen. The
matched servers are displayed, as well as additional details about the servers.
[radio button]
The name given to the query. In the case of customized queries, this is the name given to the
saved query by the query owner.
Analysis Query
The number of systems matching the filter in the analysis query.
The number of systems displayed depends on the collection selected in the Systems in:
drop-down list, user authorization on those systems, and the data interval or date range selected.
Systems
The user name of the person who has ownership of the query. Only the owner of the query
can edit and save changes to a custom query.
NOTE: Both the owner and an administrator who has full permissions on Capacity Advisor
have the ability to delete a custom query. This gives the administrator the ability to clean up
obsolete queries, if needed. Predefined queries cannot be deleted.
Owner
This column indicates whether the query is public (all users with Capacity Advisor permissions
can see it) or private (the owner of the query and an administrator with full Capacity Advisor
permissions can see it).
Visibility
This icon indicates that a filter can be used to define which queries are listed on the screen.
By default, all queries are listed.
A red icon indicates that a filter is in effect.
Filtering the query list
You can limit the queries that are shown by using the sorting filters provided for most columns.
Filtering allows information to be more easily accessible.
For example, if everyone on the CMS has published many queries, and a user wants to see only
those that he owns, a filter can be applied to view those queries. Additionally, an administrator
may find it easier to remove all of the queries that were created by someone whose account has
been deleted by applying a filter to see only that person’s queries.
To filter analysis queries:
1. Click the filter indicator to reveal the filter for the selected column.
The filter opens immediately below the header row of the table.
2. Enter the expected input for the selected filter.
