HP Capacity Advisor 7.2 User Guide

1. Do one of the following:
If you are creating the query from an existing query:
In the Analysis tab, click the radio button next to the existing query.
In the tab menu, select ActionsOpen.
If you are creating an entirely new query:
In the Analysis tab menu, select ActionsNew.
The Analysis Query Definition screen is displayed.
2. In the Analysis Query Name field, enter a name for the query.
A value in this field is required. The name must be unique and limited to 255 characters.
Some special characters are not allowed in analysis query names. See “Character support in
Capacity Analysis queries” (page 112).
3. Observe the name in the Owner field.
This is the user name associated with the query owner. It cannot be edited.
4. Decide whether the analysis query will be public or private, and set the Viewable by all check
box appropriately.
When the check box is selected, other users can see this query in their list of analysis
queries. It is shown on the analysis dashboard as public. Other users can open a public
query, but only the owner or administrator can save changes to it.
When the check box is not selected, the query is shown as private. It can only be seen
and opened by the owner or an administrator with full permissions.
5. Optional. In the Description field, enter a brief description of the analysis query.
The description is limited to 255 characters. The description text will be visible when a user
holds the mouse over the query name in the analysis query list.
6. If you are creating the query from an existing query:
a. Click Save As.
A dialog box appears with the new query name.
b. Click Save in the dialog box.
The analysis query list is updated with the new query. Additional changes to the query
can be saved by clicking Save in the Analysis Query Definition form.
