HP Capacity Advisor 7.2 User Guide

7. Optional. Select the information to be displayed in the analysis results for the query.
a. In Table Columns, click Choose….
You can select any number of attributes for inclusion in the results. In effect, you are
creating a customized report.
See Attribute selection” (page 115) for information on the attributes you can select.
b. Click OK.
Columns for the attributes you selected are now visible in the right-hand side of the Analysis
Query Definition screen. This preview also shows the systems that currently meet the
selected criteria.
The example below shows the attributes that were selected for display in the “Missing power
calibration” query results. This query looks for systems where power calibration is missing
and might be configured incorrectly.
The following example shows that different information was chosen for display in the “No
data collected in the interval” query results. This query looks for systems that are up but have
no valid CPU readings, preventing the collection of data.
8. Optional. Customize the way that columns will appear in the query results.
To reorder a column, grab the column header and move it to the left or right.
To resize a column, drag the column separator to the left or right.
To sort the information in a column, click a column header. You can put the entries in
ascending or descending order.
NOTE: Changes you make to column ordering, width, and sort order from the Analysis
Query Definition screen are saved as part of the query. The same type of changes can be
made in the Analysis tab when viewing query results, but they are not saved.
Any changes previewed in the Metrics from: and Systems in: selectors are not saved as part
of the query.
9. Optional. Add a filter to the analysis query definition or edit the existing filter.
The filter defines the systems and particular characteristics that will be part of the query
definition.
For information on creating a filter expression, see the following section.
As you construct the filter, the preview results display the systems that currently meet the selected
criteria.
10. Click Save to save the query.
