HP Capacity Advisor 7.2 User Guide

NOTE: Peak, 15-minute sustained, 90th percentile, and average values are available as separate
attributes. See Table 13 (page 115).
Memory Tab
Table 16 Attributes available for use in analysis queries: Memory Tab
DescriptionAttribute NameSection
The percentage of available memory used by
the systems, measured in GB.
For more information see “Units and
terminology” (page 211).
NOTE: The memory attributes only measure
memory that is used by the applications
running on the system. Memory used by the
kernel and disk cache are not included.
Peak Memory (%)Memory Utilization (%)
15–Min Memory (%)
90%ile Memory (%)
Avg Memory (%)
The amount of actual memory used by the
systems, measured in GB. Memory used by the
kernel and disk cache are not included.
For more information see “Units and
terminology” (page 211).
Peak Memory (GB)Memory Utilization (GB)
15–Min Memory (GB)
90%ile Memory (GB)
Avg Memory (GB)
The average number of memory pages being
swapped per second.
This metric is only collected from physical Linux
and Windows systems.
Peak Memory Paging
(pages/s)
Memory Paging Rates (pages/s)
15–Min Memory Paging
(pages/s)
90%ile Memory Paging
(pages/s)
Avg Memory Paging (pages/s)
The amount of memory the system is able to
access.
Memory (GB)Memory Capacity
For ESX VM guests, this is the amount of
memory the VM is guaranteed by the ESX VM
host. This value is only available for ESX VMs.
Reserved Memory
The headroom percentage indicates how much
the demand for the memory could grow before
violating the system's memory utilization limits.
This metric is capped at 3100% to avoid
dividing by zero or other small numbers.
Memory Headroom (%)
NOTE: Peak, 15-minute sustained, 90th percentile, and average values are available as separate
attributes. See Table 13 (page 115).
