HP Capacity Advisor 7.2 User Guide

If the workload is not referenced on the Workload tab, you can delete the workload with the
following command from the CLI:
gwlm delete --workload=workload_name
This will remove the association between the workload and its collected data. The next scheduled
data collection (usually done nightly) will delete any non-referenced profile data. Capacity Advisor
should correctly recognize the new server association from this point on.
Data cannot be imported
Cannot import ICperf data
This can occur in the case where a server, for which you already have ICperf data collected, is
discovered by Systems Insight Manager using WBEM instead of SNMP.
Suggested resolution: Rediscover the server using SNMP and turn on ICperf monitoring. This
populates the ICperf database with the values that Capacity Advisor needs in order to import the
data associated with this server.
Then import the existing data into Capacity Advisor.
Thereafter, if you want to rediscover the system using WBEM, you may do so; ICperf data collection
should work properly at this point.
Data analysis is not working in Capacity Analysis
The Capacity Analysis Readiness screen appears automatically within the first 24 hours after Matrix
OE is installed on the CMS. It also appears when a current system or software configuration is
preventing analyzed data from being presented, or when a user is not authorized in Capacity
Advisor.
If Capacity Analysis is not working as expected, review the points below.
Verify user authorization
Your user ID must be authorized to use the Capacity Advisor tool for you to view the data analysis.
This authorization is set by the software or system administrator when Matrix OE is installed, or
when a new user is added to the software configuration.
NOTE: A short delay (20 minutes) occurs between the time an administrator sets user permissions
for Capacity Advisor and the time the Readiness Checklist shows that the authorization is in effect.
This is the time it takes Capacity Advisor to register that a change has occurred in user authorization.
If you know that your user ID has been authorized, and you have waited longer than 20 minutes
for the readiness check to pass, contact your administrator for assistance. The administrator may
need to confirm that your authorization to use Capacity Advisor is in place.
Verify that the Capacity Advisor analysis data service has run
The analyses presented from the Analysis tab depend on the operation of the HP Capacity Advisor
Analysis Data Service. This service is started automatically when Matrix OE is installed on the CMS
— collecting data almost immediately from discovered managed servers.
If you have waited longer than 24 hours for the data service to provide an initial analysis, or if
you determine the analysis is not updating, check that data service is running.
