This appendix lists the hardware and software requirements for a CMS running HP-UX.
HP-UX CMS requirements
This section lists the following requirements for an HP-UX CMS:

• HP-UX 11i v2:
At least 1.1 GHz (1.3 GHz or higher recommended)
Two or more processing cores are required (four cores
recommended)
• HP-UX 11i v3:
At least 1.1 GHz (1.6 GHz or higher recommended)
Two or more processing cores are required (eight cores
recommended)
Processors
HP-UX 11i v2: 5 GB RAM (8 GB RAM recommended for maximum
hardware configuration)
HP-UX 11i v3: 5 GB RAM (12 GB RAM recommended for
maximum hardware configuration)
Memory
20 MB minimum for Systems Insight ManagerDisk space requirements: /
Systems Insight Manager requires 600 MB.
Insight Dynamics requires an additional 200 MB
Disk space requirements: /opt
Log files are stored in the directories /var/opt/amgr,
/var/opt/gwlm and /var/opt/vse/logs. These logs are
not automatically trimmed.
Capacity Advisor requires a maximum of 4 GB for every 100
workloads to maintain 4 years of historic data. This data is stored
in the directory /var/opt/vse. You can modify the amount of
data retained in data collection by modifying the
PROFILE_RETAIN_DAYS variable. For details, see the HP Insight
Capacity Advisor 6.0 Software: User Guide .
Disk space requirements: /var/opt
Global Workload Manager requires at least 1 GB. If you intend
to keep historical data, HP recommends allowing 4 GB for every
100 workloads managed by gWLM. If you are not interested in
historical data, you can trim the historical database by using the
following command:
gwlm history --truncate
If you are using the default Systems Insight Manager PostgreSQL
database, this space will be allocated in /var/opt. If you are
using Oracle, this space will be allocated on the Oracle database
server.
