Remote console
The remote console is a terminal to manage a guest virtual machine. This feature allows you to
access the guest directly. You do not have to run the hpvmconsole command to search for the
host machine and guest name. An IP address is assigned to each guest virtual machine. You can
use this unique IP address and the host login credentials to directly access the guest without running
any additional commands.
The remote console is used when a user has to access only a specific virtual machine guest. The
login credentials are the same as the credentials that are confined during the OS installation on
the virtual machine.
The Remote console column provides options to start, create, modify, or delete a remote console.
For more information on how to start, create, modify, or delete a remote console, see the following
topics:
Start remote console
Create remote console
Modify remote console
Delete remote console
NOTE: You can also configure remote console using the hpvm commands on the VMMgr CLI.
Starting remote console
The Start option in the Console tab allows you to access the guest virtual machine. You must specify
the virtual machine's IP address and the OS login credentials to access the guest. The IP is assigned
when a remote console is created.
