HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.0 Recovery Management User Guide

Storage Replication Group name given for the boot and data LUNs of the logical servers
that will be part of the same Recovery Group, for example, the HP P6000 DR Group
name.
NOTE: HP P6000, HP P9000, and User Defined Storage Replication Groups must use
the same Storage Replication Group name at the Local Site and the Remote Site.
NOTE: HP 3PAR remote copy Storage Replication Groups will have different names at
the Local Site and the Remote Site.
Storage port WWN and LUN for the replicated LUN, in the case of raw LUNs used by
DR Protected logical servers.
General storage set up notes
For information on storage setup of cross technology logical servers (logical servers capable
of being VC hosted or VM hosted), see: “Dynamic workload movement with CloudSystem
Matrix (page 25)
For a list of supported storage, see the HP Insight Management 7.0 Support Matrix at: http://
www.hp.com/go/matrixoe/docs
Hyper-V virtual machines in clustered environments must be stored on cluster shared volumes.
HP P6000 storage setup notes
With HP P6000 Contiuous Access Software storage replication, when an asynchronous
replication group is used in a recovery group and a recovery group failover occurs, a full
copy of the new source vDisks is automatically duplicated on the new destination vDisks. If a
failure occurs in the middle of this full copy operation, the data on the new destination vDisks
could be corrupted. To protect the new destination vDisks, you must make HP P6000 Command
View settings enabling auto-suspend to prevent the automatic full copy operation. You will
also need to backup the data on the new destination vDisks, then manually resume the full
copy. Alternatively, for a planned failover, you can backup data on the source vDisks, before
performing the failover. For more information, refer to:

If the password for a Storage Management Server is changed, take the following actions to
refresh the Storage Management Server password on the CMS and in the Matrix recovery
management configuration:
1. Discover the Storage Management Server with the changed password.
2. Go to the Matrix recovery management user interface Storage Management Servers tab.
3. Select the Storage Management Server that has the changed password, and click on
Edit.
4. Check the Refresh SIM Password box and click Save.
HP P9000 storage setup notes
When HP P9000 Continuous Access Software storage replication is used, Matrix recovery
management depends on the HP P9000 Cluster Extension Software command line interface
(CLI) to manage storage replication . The HP P9000 Cluster Extension Software CLI must be
installed on a standalone Windows system. HP P9000 Cluster Extension Software depends
