HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.3 Update 1 Installation and Configuration Guide for Provisioning with Virtual Resources

Possible causes
WMI Mapper settings are incorrect.
The WBEM provider is not properly installed or configured on the managed node.
The credentials provided to HP SIM are incorrect.
Suggested actions
1. Verify that the WMI Mapper settings are correct:
a. In HP SIM, verify that the WMI Mapper IP address is configured correctly in
OptionsProtocol SettingsWMI Mapper Proxy.
The WMI Mapper IP address is the IP address of the CMS and must reside on a network
subnet that has connectivity to all the managed systems. The host name shown must be
the FQDN associated with that IP address. If the IP address is incorrect or does not match
the host name, delete the WMI Mapper Proxy setting and enter a new one.
b. Determine the FQDN by which HP SIM knows the CMS. In HP SIM, use the Search tool
to find the CMS and mouse over the System Name to see the FQDN known to HP SIM.
If the CMS FQDN does not match the host name shown in the WMI Mapper Proxy
configuration screen, re-discover the CMS using the FQDN or IP address of the WMI
Mapper: Navigate to OptionsDiscovery. If necessary, create a new discovery task for
the CMS using the FQDN or IP address of the WMI Mapper, and run that task.
c. In the HP SIM All Systems view, select the CMS, and then select OptionsIdentify Systems
to run the Identify Systems task against the CMS. In the Task output, verify that the following
message appears:
Running WBEM rules based identification.
Got ComputerSystem WBEM/WMI data from the system.
This validates that the CMS is communicating to the WMI Mapper.
