HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.3 Update 1 Installation and Configuration Guide for Provisioning with Virtual Resources

Suggested actions
By default, web browsers (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and earlier and Mozilla Firefox
2 and earlier) limit themselves to two simultaneous connections to a single web server. If two
requests are outstanding, any additional requests wait until one of the current connections
completes. This is by design and is in agreement with the HTTP 1.1 specification.
Increase the maximum number of server connections in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Though you can increase this number into the hundreds, HP recommends that you do not
exceed 10 connections. For more information, see:
How do I configure Internet Explorer to download more than two files at one time?
available at the following website:

For Firefox's Network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server available at the following
website:

Restart the HP SIM service by restarting HP SIM in the Windows Services interface on the
CMS.
Notes:
Other reasons why the browser might lose the connection with the CMS include the following:
The CMS is shut down or restarted.
The network connection between the browser and CMS is broken.
If the system running the browser hibernates (or sleeps), it loses connection with HP SIM.
If the browser is going through a web proxy, the proxy may be obtrusively slow to respond
at some point over an extended period.

No buffer space available, maximum connections reached
Issue
A CMS server running Windows Server 2008 R2 with infrastructure orchestration generates the
following error while attempting to open a new socket connection:
java.net.SocketException: No buffer space available (maximum connections
reached?)
Possible causes
This error can occur after approximately 20 days or more of continuous operation. If this error
occurs, additional sockets cannot be opened causing failures and preventing the Matrix OE software
stack from functioning.
NOTE: This is a known issue with certain Microsoft operating systems. Although this has been
seen in Matrix OE, it has also been reported in other (non-HP) software programs.
