3
Organizations
o An organization has its own virtual IO system with
Organization Administrator and Organization User roles.
Maintenance and Unassigned Pools
o Organizations are created dynamically by the Service Provider Administrator who makes resources
available to them. Organizations have unique names.
o The Organization Admin uses an Organization Portal to manage the Organization’s virtual IO
system.
o The role of an Organization User is essentially the same as the IO User role in previous versions
but their access and control is restricted to the resources assigned to Organizations virtual IO
system.
o There is information security and privacy between the virtual IO systems used by different
organizations.
o There is no access to the Service Provider or CMS by an Organization User or Administrator.
Console
The Console, which is only available to the Service Provider Administrator, has been extended to allow the Service
Provider Administrator to manage organizations and the entire IO system. Changes were made in the 7.0 release to
a number of the Console tabs.
Restriction If the Service Provider Admin is also a member of an Organization Administrator or User Group then HP
SIM will not allow him to log in and so he will be denied access to the Console.
Template Tab
The details view of the Template tab shows the organizations to which the template has been assigned.
