HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.0 Integrity CMS Installation and Configuration Guide (7.0 and 7.1)

Postinstallation update of gWLM agents
If you update Matrix OE for HP-UX on the CMS to version A.07.00.00.* without updating the
gWLM agent software on some of your managed systems, update those agents as soon as it is
convenient to do so. Use Procedure 12 to update the agents.
Procedure 12 Update gWLM agents after updating the CMS
1. Undeploy the SRDs that are managing systems where agents are going to be upgraded. Stop
using the existing version of gWLM, including the command-line interface. You can continue
running the gWLM daemons (gwlmcmsd and gwlmagent) and the WBEM service and
provider daemons.
2. Install and start the agents as described in “Install Insight Management agent software and
configure managed systems” (page 15).
3. For any partition-based SRDs, follow the steps described in “Rediscover partition-based SRDs
(page 18). For SRDs based on PSETs, FSS groups, or virtual machines, redeploy those SRDs.
To determine if PSETs (HP-UX processor sets, the PROCSETS bundle) is installed use the swlist
ProcessorSets command.
Preparing a Red Hat Linux managed system
OpenPegasus is required for Insight Management of Linux systems. Red Hat (RHEL) distributions
include OpenPegasus, but this is not installed by default. Either manually select OpenPegasus
during RHEL installation, or install it later from your RHEL distribution media through the YaST
Control Center.
Preparing a ProLiant SUSE Linux managed system
This section provides instructions on how to prepare a ProLiant system running SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server 9 or 10 to be a managed system in Matrix OE for HP-UX. Both x86 and x64
(AMD64/EM64T) platforms running these SUSE Linux versions are shipped with OpenWBEM,
which is not supported by Matrix OE for HP-UX. OpenPegasus is the supported WBEM Services
for Matrix OE for HP-UX.
Because OpenPegasus WBEM Services cannot be installed when OpenWBEM is present on the
system, the following procedures describe how to remove OpenWBEM, install OpenPegasus
WBEM Services, and deploy the Matrix OE for HP-UX agents required for managing the SUSE
Linux system. If the managed system is already running OpenPegasus 2.5 or greater then no action
is required.
Procedure 13 Remove OpenWBEM
OpenWBEM must be removed from the system before installing OpenPegasus WBEM onto a
ProLiant managed system running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 or 10. Use the following procedure
to remove OpenWBEM.
1. Before removing OpenWBEM, stop the OpenWBEM CIM Daemon.
# /etc/init.d/owcimomd stop
Shutting down OpenWBEM CIMOM Daemon
2. Remove OpenWBEM and packages that depend on OpenWBEM through the YaST Control
Center or another package management application.
Procedure 14 Download OpenPegasus WBEM
Use the following steps to download OpenPegasus WBEM packages from the HP website.
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/.
2. Enter “OpenPegasus WBEM Services” in the product search field and click the Search button.
3. Click the link for the OpenPegasus version specific to Matrix OE for HP-UX from the resulting
list of products.
