Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions Using Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA A.05.01

ls DR_GROUP \Data Replication\DRG_DB1
NOTE: For more detailed information on the SSSU commands used in the sample input file, see
/opt/cmcluster/toolkit/SGCAEVA/Samples/Readme.sssu_sample_input
Perform the following steps when copying and editing the sample file:
1. Copy the sample file /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/SGCAEVA/Samples/
sssu_sample_input to the /etc/dtsconf directory.
# cp
/opt/cmcluster/toolkit/SGCAEVA/Samples/sssu_sample_input/etc/dtsconf/sssu_input
2. Customize the file sssu_input.
3. After you customize the sssu_input file, run the SSSU command as follows to set the
destination Vdisk to read-only mode
# /sbin/sssu FILE <input_file>
4. To create the special device file name for the Vdisk on EVA, after changing the access mode
of the destination Vdisk, run the ioscan command and the insf command on all clustered
nodes.
Creating the Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA Map for the replicated storage
The mapping file /etc/dtsconf/caeva.map is required to be present in all the cluster nodes
for the Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA product to function. The mapping file /etc/
dtsconf/caeva.map contains information of the Management Servers as well as the information
of the HP P6000/EVA Storages and DR Groups used in the Metrocluster Continuous Access EVA
environment.
The Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA product provides two utility tools, smispasswd and
evadiscovery, for users to provide information about the SMI-S servers running on the Management
Servers and DR groups that will be used in Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA environment.
These tools must be used to create or modify the map file /etc/dtsconf/caeva.map.
The Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA product provides two utility tools for users to provide
information about the SMI-S service running on the Management Servers and DR groups that will
be used in Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA environment.
smispasswd
Metrocluster retrieves storage information from the SMIS-Server for its startup or failover operations.
To contact the SMIS-server, it requires SMIS Server's hostname/IP address, username/password,
and port number. This information must be available in caeva.map file before you configure any
Metrocluster packages. The smispasswd utility, packaged along with Metrocluster must be used
to create or edit this map file with the above SMI-S server login information.
evadiscovery
When querying HP P6000/EVA storagestates through the SMI-S, Metrocluster first needs to find
the internal device IDs. This process takes time. However, this process need not be repeated because
the IDs are static in the EVA system. This information is cached in the caeva.map file to improve
package startup time. To cache the internal device IDs, run the evadiscovery tool after the EVA
and HP P6000/EVA Continuous Access are configured, and the storage is accessible from the
hosts. The tool queries the active Management Server for the needed information, and then saves
it in caeva.map. Once the map file is created, it is necessary to distribute it to all the cluster nodes
to communicate with the HP P6000/EVA units.
Defining Management Server and SMI-S information
To define Management Server and SMI-S information use the smispasswd tool. The following
steps describe the options for defining Management Server and SMI-S information:
