Checking Version Compatibility Before installing the Client, check the compatibility of the Client with the Neoview platform. Pre-Installation Steps for Support of International Character Sets NOTE: For a list of limitations in Dashboard Client support for non-ASCII characters, see “Dashboard Client Support for International Character Sets” (page 15). Configuring a Non-ASCII Workstation No special pre-installation steps are required for display of multibyte characters on a non-ASCII workstation, for instance a Japanese workstation.
7. On the Readme screen, select Next. 8. On the Customer Information Screen, enter your name and organization, and select Next.
. On the Destination Folder screen, Select Next. 10. Wait for a few minutes while the Dashboard Client is installed.
11. When installation of the Client is finished, the wizard installs the Client Server Gateway (CSG), which allows communication between the Dashboard Client and the Neoview platform. On the Welcome screen, select Next. 12. On the Select Destination Directory screen, Select Install CSG.
13. On the Installation Completed screen, select Finish.
Setting Up the Client Server Gateway (CSG) 1. Start the CSG by selecting the CSG icon: 2. On the toolbar shown here 3. click on the button to display the Options dialog box. In the Options dialog click on the TCP/IP tab.
4. On the following screen, enter the TCP/IP address of segment 1 of the cluster to be monitored. Specify Telnet port 4539 and Host Service Name SSGCOM1: 5. Click on the Session tab. 6. Uncheck “Use Common Security” and “Auto Logon.” Click on Apply, then on OK.
Click on the Start/Stop Host Session button, which is the blue chevron on the far left of the toolbar. 7. Before you connect, the terminal window looks something like this: Afterward, it should look something like this: 8. 14 If there was error, correct it and try again. Possible errors are an invalid TCP/IP address, Telnet port number, or Host Service Name. A descriptive message will appear in the CSG Terminal Window.
9. Once a connection is established, you can run the Dashboard Client from the Windows Start menu. Select Start —> All Programs, then Neoview Management Dashboard: Post-Installation Instructions If you are installing the Dashboard Client software on the Neoview Console, follow these additional insructions to ensure that HP Support can remotely connect to the Neoview Console.
NOTE: • • • • • • The Table entity is disabled by default in Service Pack 1. The Client currently does not display Chinese or Korean characters. Instead, query text in the Browse window, in Sort or Grid view, appears as a series of question marks, blanks, or other replacement characters. In Show Related displays, characters outside the ASCII numeric code set are not displayed correctly in the local language. Capture of EDL with non-ASCII data is not supported.
