README for the HP Neoview Management Dashboard Client (R2.4)

NOTE: HP recommends that you use the View->Options menu item to change the properties

of the Dashboard Client. Avoid updating the properties of the Dashboard Client by directly

editing the registry keys with utilities such as “Regedit.exe”. Most of the property changes, if

done directly in the register, will not affect the Dashboard Client unless it is restarted.

Other Important Information About This Product

Dashboard Client Support for International Character Sets

The Neoview Management Dashboard supports international character sets, including ISO8859–1,

Japan Shift-JIS, and Unicode, with the following restrictions:

• Non-ASCII character set support is provided for only the following entities, fields, window

and a character:

Non-ASCII characters do not occur in the other fields defined for these entities, except show

related displays.

NOTE: The Table entity is disabled by default.

• Non-ASCII character set support has been provided for the East Asian locales supported

by the latest Neoview Release.

• Capture of EDL with non-ASCII data is not supported.

• In Show Related displays other than the “Show Query object window”, characters outside

the ASCII numeric code set are not displayed correctly in the local language.

• Commands issued in the Command and Control facility might fail or have unexpected

results if the queries on which they operate have domain names that contain non-ASCII

characters.

• A table whose name contains characters other than 7–bit ASCII cannot be explicitly configured

(by HP Support) for monitoring by Dashboard. Such a table will be monitored only if the

SQL compiler reports that the table has missing or obsolete statistics.
