• If you are performing Smart Array configuration, it must be the last utility step in the
group followed by the Install Operating System group and its partitioning tasks.
Configuring the Smart Array causes C: to disappear and thus subsequent Run
Command Line tasks that reference a package will fail. Do not execute
hpssascripting.exe in a batch file for the same reason.
• If you are performing Smart Array Configuration to controllers supported by the
HPCISSS3 driver, it is probable that the subsequent Partition Disk 0 task will fail.
After the Smart Configuration task, add a Run Command Line task with a Command
line of ping localhost -n 60. This will cause the task sequence to wait, giving
the driver time to reinitialize. Alternatively, you could remove the driver from the boot
image or perform a manual Smart Array configuration.
