After the image download concludes, the SMA I automatically begins configuring the operating
system and software. During this automated process, the SMA I performs several reboots of the CD
and Microsoft® Windows®

operating system.
After the operating system and software configuration process concludes, the SMA I is restored to
Storage Management Appliance software v2.1. The Windows Welcome to Windows dialog box is
displayed.
10. Install additional SMA I software updates and other applications, as required. Refer to your specific
update or application documentation for information on installing them.
Note: To browse to the SMA I, enter smaxxxxxxxxxxxx as the URL address from a compatible
browser. The xxxxxxxxxxxx
represents all the characters in the SMA I serial number. For information
on logging on to the SMA I, refer to the
Compaq SANworks Management Appliance Configuration
Guide
that shipped with the SMA I.
Note: If after the QuickRestore process you are unable to browse to the SMA I, refer to the

Troubleshooting
Should you encounter problems during the restore process, refer to Table 1. If you encounter other
