HP SANworks Storage Allocation Reporter V1.0D SP2 Application Note (AA-RS2RD-TE, December 2002)

Known Issues and Workarounds
8 Application Note – Storage Allocation Reporter V1.0D SP2
Removing SAR
Use caution before removing SAR from your Management Appliance because you cannot reinstall
SAR V1.0D on the Management Appliance software V2.0.
CAUTION: If you remove SAR and wish to reinstall it, you must return your Storage
Management Appliance software to V1.0C and reinstall SAR V1.0D. Be certain that this is
what you intend to do, as you must reinstall the Management Appliance Software V1.0C and
reconstruct all settings.
SAR cannot be removed with the Management Appliance Software V2.0 (Settings> Maintenance >
Remove Software). You must use Terminal Services to connect to the Appliance. Then you can use
the Windows Add/Remove Programs applet to remove SAR.
Configuring Alerts
If you decide to enable SNMP Alerts, you must use Windows (SNMP Service properties, Traps tab) to
specify the Community name and Trap destination. “SNMP Trap Recipients” settings on “hp
OpenView Storage Management Appliance software V2.0”, only applies to traps sent out by the
Management Appliance software.
