Version: 6.05.00 Description This package contains the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array Hardware Providers software for Windows. In this document, Enterprise Virtual Array is abbreviated to EVA. The hardware providers software works with the Microsoft Virtual Disk Service (VDS) and Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to enable Windows applications to manage HP StorageWorks EVA storage systems and create shadow copies of HP EVA storage system volumes.

Installation Instructions For Windows Server 2008, the installer will automatically upgrade previous installations of the hardware provider software to the latest version. For Windows Server 2008 R2, you must manually remove the previous version (v6.04.00) of the hardware provider software before installing the latest version. There are three installers for the hardware providers: • HP_StorageWorks_VDS_VSS_Hardware_Provider_EVA_v6_05_00_x86.

In a LUN resync operation, the source LUN is the LUN used for creating a shadow copy, and a different LUN is a LUN that is not the source LUN of the shadow copy used for resync/restore. LUN resync is supported on all EVA arrays except for the HP StorageWorks 3000 EVA Storage System and the HP StorageWorks 5000 EVA Storage System.
