HP P6000 Command View Suite 10.3 Release Notes (T5494-96584)

Data migration fails if the destination has insufficient capacity
The capacity of the 3PAR destination is not verified during the data migration preparation phase.
Therefore, it is possible for a successful preparation phase to be followed by a failed migration if
the destination capacity is smaller than the source Vdisk.
Migration preparation failed
Multiple scenarios can cause a data migration failure during the preparation phase and display
a Migration preparation failed error. The following conditions can cause the preparation process
to fail to admit volumes on the destination storage system:
The destination CPGs do not have enough capacity. If this occurs, free up enough capacity
in the CPGs or add more capacity to the CPGs on the destination storage system.
Duplicate volumes exist. This can occur if a virtual volume with either the same name or the
same WWN exists on the destination storage system. Ensure that the volume name and WWN
is unique.
The required LUN is not available on the host object on the destination storage system.
The source volumes are not visible to the destination storage system through both paths.
The following conditions can cause the preparation process to fail to create a host object on the
destination storage system:
The destination storage system is inaccessible.
There is an existing host on the destination storage system with a subset of HBA ports of the
host being created.
There is a host on the destination storage system with a duplicate name but a different HBA
port.
There is a host on the destination storage system with a duplicate name and a subset of a
HBA port with a different operating system. If a host pre-exists on the destination storage
system, verify that the operating system type is set with one of the following values: Sun Solaris,
vmware, linux, Microsoft Windows 2008, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows 2012,
HP-UX, IBM AIX.
