HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Installation Guide (T3680-96092, October 2012)

Insufficient space in the temporary directory
When you install the replication manager, the contents of the .jar file are extracted to a temporary
directory. If there is insufficient space in the directory, this error can occur.
Resolution: If you do not know whether the temporary directory has sufficient space to complete
the installation, you can specify an alternate directory as follows:
1. Open a command window.
2. Enter the following command:
-is:tempdir <directory>
The value directory is the name of the alternate directory (for example, -is:tempdir
C:\My Documents\temp).
JNDI port 1099 conflict
The HBAnyware WebLaunch utility can cause a port conflict (port 1099) with the replication
manager. If this occurs, the replication manager is launched; however, a red X appears in the
lower left corner of the connection status icon.
Resolution: Uninstall the HBAnyware WebLaunch utility or stop the Emulex HBA WebLaunch service.
No login server error message
This error can occur due to an invalid or unavailable server IP address.
Resolution: Verify the server IP address in your browser. Verify that the services are running on the
management server.
Upgrading the host agent does not retain configuration settings
To retain configuration changes made to the host agent before upgrading to the latest version:
1. Back up the host agent logs (located in the logs folder in <system drive>:\Program
Files\Hewlett-Packard\RSMHostSW\RSMHA) to a location outside the parent folder of
the host installation directory (<system drive>:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\
RSMHostSW).
2. Back up the host agent configuration file, hprsmha.cfg (located in the installation directory),
to a location outside the directory's parent folder.
3. Ensure that no files or folders are being accessed in the host agent installation directory, and
then use Add or Remove Programs to remove the host agent.
The host agent log and configuration files are not required for host agent functionality, but
you can retain them for future reference.
4. Upgrade to the latest version.
NOTE: The host agent is installed in the default directory, C:\Program Files\
Hewlett-Packard\RSMHostSW\RSMHA.
5. Identify changes made to the default settings in the host agent configuration file (hprsmha.cfg)
by looking for uncommented entries (lines that do not begin with the # character).
Compare the values in the configuration file that you backed up in Step 2 with the values in
the hprsmha.cfg file after the upgrade. If the values are different, replace the values in the
new configuration file with the values from the previous configuration file.
6. If you made any changes to the hprsmha.cfg file in Step 5, restart the host agent service
for the new configuration values to take effect.
