Version: 2.2 Description In a typical Storage Area Network (SAN) environment, multiple I/O intensive applications share storage resources. Not all applications are mission critical, but they compete with the mission critical applications for the same I/O processing requirements. In such situations, there is a need to keep the key (mission critical) applications at a desired performance level and other (non critical) applications at an acceptable performance level.
Software and hardware requirements Table 1 describes the software and hardware required to install P9000 Application Performance Extender. Table 1 Software and hardware requirements XP24000 or XP20000 with Microcode version 60-04-1300/00 or later NOTE: XP disk array models P9000 disk array models Ensure that you select an XP disk array which does not have Storage Logical Partitions (SLPR) configured. P9500 with Microcode version 70-01-23-00/00 or later Minimum driver versions required: • Windows: 9.1.8.
Minimum driver versions required: Emulex HBA driver version • Windows 32 bit: 5.2.43.004 • Windows 64 bit: 7.2.43.004 • Windows IA 64: 6.2.43.

Licensing information P9000 Application Performance Extender v2.2 follows a band-based pricing structure.
• The IP address of the hosts should not be changed after installation. • If the management station is down for a certain duration, the controller works with the set SLO values, but performance data for that duration is not available. • After a PRM group configuration change, configuration data must be collected again for that host. • If a management station has been restarted, host discovery will take a while depending on the number of hosts connected to the management station.
