Logs might be collected in layers below HDLM, such as for the HBA driver. For
more details, see the AIX documentation.
Types of Collected Logs
HDLM collects information on the detected error and trace information in the
integrated trace file, trace file, error logs, HDLM utility's log file, and syslog.
You can use the error information to examine the status of an error and
analyze the cause of the error.
The following table lists and describes the error information that can be
collected in logs.

Operation logs of the HDLM
command are collected.
The default file path

To specify the output
destination directory and the

Library (HNTRLib2) utility.
Trace file Trace information on the HDLM
manager is collected at the level
specified by the user. If an error
occurs, you might need to change
the settings to collect trace
information.
The trace file name is /var/

Error log Error information is collected for the
user-defined level. By default, HDLM
collects all error information.
