Managing the HP Avaya SBC Product

From the hardware perspective, the HP Avaya SBC Product will not require

regularly scheduled management, but there are both hardware and software

tools available to monitor the status of the module.

Hardware Management Tools

■ Switch LEDs – The HP ProCurve switches have status LEDs on them

indicating the status of the module hardware. These LEDs also indicate

such conditions as a switch software incompatibility with the module, and

when a module has been hot swapped without the switch being reset. Both

of these conditions will cause your HP Avaya SBC zl Module to be

inoperative. See the Troubleshooting chapter in the switch Installation

and Getting Started Guide for more information on these LEDs.

■ Module LEDs – The HP AllianceONE Services zl Module has a Status

LED that indicates the status of the module circuitry, as well as the hard

disk and the compact flash on the module. Normally, this LED is on solid

green indicating that all the components are operating correctly. If there

is an error condition on any of the components, this LED would be flashing

orange or on solid orange.
