Configuring Device C
1. Configure the MST region name as example, map VLAN 10, VLAN 30, and VLAN 40 to MSTI 1,
MSTI 3, and MSTI 4, respectively, and configure the revision level of the MST region as 0. (The
procedure here is the same as that of configuring an MST region on Device A.)
2. Enable MSTP globally and configure the current device as the root bridge of MSTI 4:
a. From the navigation tree, select Network > MSTP > Global.
b. Perform the following configurations on the page similar to that shown in Figure 52:

ect Enable from the
Enable STP Globally list.
Select MSTP from the Mode list.
Select the Instance box.
Set the Instance ID field to 4.
Set the Root Type field to Primary.
c. Click Apply.
Configuring Device D
1. Configure the MST region name as example, map VLAN 10, VLAN 30, and VLAN 40 to MSTI 1,
MSTI 3, and MSTI 4, respectively, and configure the revision level of the MST region as 0. (The

2. Enable MSTP globally:
a. From the navigation tree, select Network > MSTP > Global.
The page similar to that shown in Figure 52 appears.
b. Selec
t Enable in the Enable STP Globally list, and select MSTP in the Mode list.
c. Click Apply.
Verifying the configurations
You can use the display stp brief command to display brief spanning tree information on each device
after the network is stable.
