Software Management
Special Considerations Prior to Updating
You can type the first few letters of the directory name, then press the Tab key to complete the
name. You might need to add the last few characters of the directory name if the USB drive
contains more than one image.
9. Update the software.
For example, if the new image directory is ST.1.1.100330, you would type:
hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# update product ST.1.1.100330
Again, you can use tab completion for the file name.
10. When the prompt says that the installation is finished, unmount and remove the USB drive.
hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# usb unmount
Remove the USB drive from the module.
Caution: The module cannot boot (the next step) if the USB drive remains inserted in the
module.
11. Boot the module to the ProductOS to complete the update.
hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# boot product
Special Considerations Prior to Updating
IMPORTANT: Shortly after the release of ST.1.1.100226, a DHCP Relay problem was found and a new
software version, ST.1.1.100330, was released to fix this problem. The ST.1.1.100330 software release
has replaced the ST.1.1.100226 software release, which is no longer available. References here to the
ST.1.1.100226 software have been replaced by references to ST.1.1.100330. ST.1.1.100330 has the same
functionality as ST.1.1.100226, in addition to the DHCP Relay fix.
There are two planned software maintenance releases in the next 6 months. These two releases are
targeted for the following environments:
March 2010 Version, ST.1.1.100330
Environments that should update:
TMS zl Modules that are running below 75% CPU utilization
1
regardless of configuration
OR
TMS zl Modules that are encountering stability or reliability issues
Environments that should not update
TMS zl Modules that are running above 75% CPU utilization
1
regardless of configuration.
1.
CPU utilization can be determined by looking at the dashboard in the Web browser interface of the TMS zl Module during
working hours or during times of high traffic load.
