Requirements for gateway server conguration
To congure the HP gateway server to enable Lotus Domino Administration selective archiving, you might
need to per form the following tasks:
1. Congure the LDAP service. Because LDAP is not mandatory for Domino mail servers, you
might need to enable this ser vice.
See the HP Reference Information Storage System Installation Guide for more information.
For the most up-to-date instructions on setting up a Domino LDAP Service, starting and stopping the
LDAP Service, and setting up users, see the Domino LDAP documentation a nd the Notes help.
After you enable LDA P for the g ateway server, clients and LDAP-enabled applications can query the
server and get information about entries in the Domino Directory.
2. Congure mail journaling. If the Domino mail servers are congured to journal messages, then
the Email Miner should also be congured for journal mode. See the Domino documentation
for m ore information.
NOTE:
The frequent deletion of emails from the Notes journal database can cause Notes to report
the following error every time a message is removed from the journal:
Folder is Larger
Than Supported - Cannot Perform Operation
. This error does not break anything but it can
ood the Notes logs. The cause of the problem, as well as wor karounds, are described in
h
ttp://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21102463.
3. Congure a Directory Catalog and the Dircat server task. A D irectory Catalog is required on the
gateway server. If your Lotus Domino environment already includes a Directory Catalog, you
can use it when setting up the gateway. If not, talk to your HP service r epresentative. You can
also review the Domino Admin help for additional information.
Installing Email Miner for Lotus Notes
The Email Miner for Lotus Notes is an application (miner.nsf) loaded to and signed by the Domino
servers. Your HP service representative performed the initial installation on the HP Gateway server. See
"Email Miner version P2.0 for Lotus Notes installation guide" on page 147 for more information.
Administering Email Miner for Lotus Notes
See "Email Miner version P2.0 for Lotus Notes administration guide" on page 157 for information
