Description
Acknowledge a specific
service problem
Ackno wledges service problem. T his option appears only if service status is not
OK. When servic
e problem is acknowledged, future notifications about problems
are temporarily disabled until service changes state (for example, recovers).
Contacts for s
ervice receive acknowledgement notifications, so they are aware
someone is wo
rking on the problem.
A comment is also added to service. Enter your name and brief description of
your actions to the comment field. The following fields are required:
• Host Name
• Service
• Author (Your Name)
• Comment
To retain service comment between restarts of Nagios, select the Persistent check
box. To sen
d acknowledgement notifications to appropriate contacts, select the
Send Notification check box.
Disable notifications for
aspecificservice
Prevents notificationsfrombeingsentforspecified service. You must re-enable
notifications for service before alerts are sent again.
Enter information in the Host N ame fi eld.
Delay next service
notification
Delays next problem notification sent for specified service. Notification delay is
disregarded if service changes state before next notification is scheduled to be
sent. This com mand has no effect if service is currently in an OK state.
The following fields are required:
• Host Name
• Service
• Notification Delay (minutes from now)

le downtime for a
specifi
cservice
Schedu
les downtime for a par ticular service. During specified downtimes, Nagios
does not send notifications about service. When scheduled downtimes expire,
Nagios sends notificationsforserviceasnormal. Scheduleddowntimesare
preserved across program shutdowns and restarts.

If y
ou select the Fixed check box, downtime is in effect between specified start
an
d end times. If you do not select the Fixed check box, Nagios treats this as
flexible downtime. Flexible d owntime starts when service enters a non-OK state
(sometime between specifiedstartandendtimes)andlastsaslongasspecified
d
uration. Duration fields do not apply to fixed downtime.
Disable checks of a
specificservice
Disables service checks. When service is disabled, Nagios does not moni tor
service a nd stops sending notifications for specified service while it is disabled.
To have Nagios check service again, you must re-enable ser vice.
Disabling service checks may not prevent notifications from being sent about
host those services a re associated with.
The following fields are required:
