Account M anagement Tool (AMT) is a batch tool used to load Exchange users into RISS when the
Exchange server is not using LDAP. If the Exchange server is using LDAP, use Dynamic Account
Synchronization (DAS) instead.
Loading user accounts into the system is a three step process:
1. Expor t a .csv le containing the Exchange user accounts you are loading into RISS. See
Exporting user account information from Exchange.
2. Use AM T to create an XML account le from the exported .csv le. See Creating XML account
les.
3. Load the XML le into RISS. See Loading user account information.
Installing AMT
To install AMT:
1. Insert the
UtilitiesCDinaWindowsdrivethatcanaccessRISS.
2. Copy the amt directory to your hard drive. This directory contains the necessary les to use AMT.
Exporting user account information from Exchange
This section explains how to export a .csv le containing user account information from Exchange
5.5 or later .
To export user account information from Exchange 5.5 :
1. From an Exchange 5.5 server, open the Exchange Admin tool.
2. Select To ols > Export Data.
3. Copy the exported le to a Windows system hosting AMT.
To export user account information from Exchange 2000 or later:
1. From an Exchange 2000 or later server, verify that csvde is installed on the server:
a. Open a command prompt window and enter csvde.
b. If csvde is installed on the server, the help for this command appears. Note that csvde is
installed as part of the Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
This utility does not run on Windows NT.
If it is not installed, the following results appear: ’csvde’ is not recognized as an
internal or external command, operable program or batch file.Ifthis
occurs, contact the Windows or Exchange system administrator.
2. From a command prompt window, enter cd amt/bin to navigate to that directory, and then enter
acdgen to run the acdgen.bat tool used to generate the export le.
3. Copy the exported le to a Windows system hosting AMT.
