Editing repos
itory retention periods
Note that when
setting the retention period of a repository, if the domain’s retention period is greater
than a specic
repository’s retention period, the domain’s retention period is applied to that repository.
To view or e dit a repository’s retention period:
1. In the Retention view, click the domain name to display a list of repositories in that dom ain.
Or to locate a s
pecic user’s repository, enter the user’s lo g in name in the Search for User
Repositorie
sboxandclickSearch. Use an asterisk (*) for wildcard searches. For example, entering
dept38* locates all repositories with user names that begin with dept38.
2. If nee d ed, use the navigation links or click one of the repository lter buttons to locate the repository.
Then, click the repository nam e to view or edit its retention period.
3. Complete th
e form to set the retention period.
4. Click Save Retention.

Changing the retention reprocessing status
You can enable or disable retention reprocessing for a specic doma in o r all the domains listed.
To change the retention processing status:
1. In the Retention view, locate the domain whose retention processing you want to enable or d isable.
2. Complete any of the following tasks to change the status:
To enable retention processing for a specic domain, select the corresponding Retention
Status check box .
To disable retention processing for a specic domain, clear the corresponding Retention
Status check box .
To enable retention processing for all domains, click Resume All .
To disable retention processing for all domains, click Suspend All.
3. Verify the status by noting the text Disabled or Enabled next to the Retention Status check box.
Viewing retention history logs
The retention history lo g shows a list of the last run of data optimiza tion for each congured domain. The
log includes each domain group, when a domain was reprocessed last, and le activity.
To display the retention history logs:

l to the bottom of the Retention view.
Smartcell Cloning
This view shows status of current and past cloning operations. Use this view to clone a smart cell.
You can clone a smart cell if its mirror smar t cell is SUSPENDED, DEAD, or FAILED. (See "Smar t cell
life cycle states" on page 28.)
Cloning a smart cell copies all its information to another smart cell that is in the FREE state to give the
smart cell a new, viable mirror. Cloning operations can take a long time (even a day) depending on
amount of information cloned.
