b. From the MBean list, click ProvisionerMBe an. The MBean view appears.
c. Verify the ProvisionerMasterBackupStatus attribute is set to Master Provisioner.Ifitissetto
Backup Provisioner, return to the View Cell Space view, click the link to the other m etaserver,
and repeat the previous steps.
3. Determinewhichsmartcellsfailedandcanberestored:
a. In the MBean view for the primary controller, click the button next to ListBrokenGroups.Groups
that failed and h ave not been recovered are listed.
b. Copy GroupIDs and Roles of broken groups.
c. Click Back to MBean view.
4. Restore the smar t cell:
a. Under the RestoreSmartCellUsingGroupIDAndRole attribute, enter the group ID in the rst eld
and the role in the second eld.
b. Click Invoke.
c. If the restore is successful, a conrmation message appea rs. Note the restore target information.
d. If an error occurs, verify that the g roup ID and role are correct. If the information is correct,
verify that the sm art cell needs restoring and there is a free sma rt cell.
5. Verify that the restore process is running correctly or has c ompleted:
a. In the View Cell Space view, locate the restored smart cell listed in the conrmation message.
b. If the smart cell assigned is not in the restore state, the restore process completed and no further
action is required. Otherwise, click the link to the smar t cell in the restore state.
c. From the MBean list, click BackupSystemMBean. The MBean view appears.
d. Verify that the RunningState attribute is 3 and the FailureReason attribute is No Failure.This
indicates the restore p rocess is occurring normally.
If the RunningState attribute is 5 , the restore process failed. Check the FailureReason attribute
for the cause.
MBean view
This view shows operations (methods) and attributes exposed by a particular managed object (MBean or
JBoss c omponent) for remote man agem ent p urposes.
NOTE:
Do not
modify settings in this view. For monitoring purposes, you normally do not need to use this view.

intended only for installers and advanced system administrator s.
YoucanviewthelifecyclestatechangehistoryforanindividualsmartcellintheMBeanviewforthe
Smar tCellStateControllerMBean of the smar t cell.
In the View Cell Space view, go to the sm art cell's Agent view, and g o to the MBea n view for the
Smar tCellStateControllerMBean.
