SSL Conguration
SSL, or Secure Socket Layer, is a technology that allows web browsers and web servers to communicate
over a secured connection. This means that the data being sent is encrypted by one side, transmitted,
then decrypted by the other side before processing. It is a t wo-way process, meaning that both the server
AND the browser encrypt all trafc before sending out data.
The SSL Conguration view lets you generate certicate signing requests (CSRs), and corresponding
private keys, for secured connections on the RISS. You can create two t ypes of CSRs: one for access to
the PCC por tal, and one for access to the HTTP portals.
After generating the CSRs, see "Installing a third part y certicate on the PCC por tal" on page 40 and
"Installing a third party certicate on the HTTP portals" on page 40 for the steps needed to complete
the process.
The SSL Conguration view contains two areas. The top area shows any current certicate signing
requests in the system. The bot tom area contains a form to complete to generate a certicate signing
request (CSR) and RSA private key.
