Use the Clonin g
view to show the status of current and past cloning operations, and to clone a smart cell.
You can clone a s
mart cell if its mirror smart cell is SUSPENDED, DEAD, o r FAILED. (See "Smart cell
life cycle states" on page 25.)
Cloning a smart cell copies all its information to another smart cell that is in the FREE state to give the
smart cell a new, viable mirror. Cloning operations can take a long time (as much as a day) , depending
on the amount of information cloned.
To place a sour
ce smart cell in the free pool, use the /opt/bin/start_reset.sh script.
When you acces
s the Cloning view, PCC searches for ongoing cloning operations and load s the current
data. Only on
e smart cell can be cloned at a time, so you see the progress of any ongoing cloning
operation.
