HP StorageWorks SVSP Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager User Guide (5697-0461, May 2010)

Prerequisites for Oracle
The following are prerequisites for installing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM):
An OEM host agent running on a host attached to the HP StorageWorks SAN Virtualization Services
Platform (SVSP).
The host user name and host password for the agent must be set in Preferences > Preferred Cre-
dentials > Set Credentials in OEM.
OEM 10g release 3 10.2.0.3.0 or above.
When using an 11g database for the repository, some initialization parameters should be modified,
otherwise the graphs on all reports do not display information correctly. The graphs work as de-
signed using a 10g repository, but not in an 11g repository. If the graphs are not correct in your
11g environment, implement the following modifications to your database:
*._b_tree_bitmap_plans=false
*._gby_hash_aggregation_enabled=false
With any changes to the database, it is necessary to test and validate these modifications in your
environment before implementing them into a production system.
Known issues
Not all of the storage functionality for Windows is supported when running on OEM Grid Control
10g. See Note: ID 465462.1. Some of the internal tables/views presented by OEM are not populated
with data if the host agent is a Windows server. Due to this issue, some of the storage reports will
not return any results.
Plug-in installation procedure
1. Log in to the OEM framework by providing both a user name and password that are registered
in OEM (typically sysman is used to login as the administrator).
