The full shadow copy set number appears in the comment field of the PiT and snapshot in the
VSM. Figure 10 shows information that appears in the comment field.

To see views that are created by VSS, select Tools > Options > General > Data presentation and
select the Show VSS Views checkbox.
8. In the DOS command prompt window on the server, mount the view by typing vshadow.exe
-el={Snapshot ID},k:\ and pressing Enter.
The vshadow.exe -el={Snapshot ID},k:\ command mounts the view to the host server
with the specified mount point. In this example the mount point was selected to be the drive letter
k:, but the mount point can be any one of these:
Drive letter
Directory share
Network share
9. Open the newly mounted snapshot. Make sure that the snapshot has the data of the original
virtual disk at the time you created the snapshot.
