CreateSnapcloneGroupEx command
Syntax
CreateSnapcloneGroupEx [UsePreviousTemplateSuffix,] ~

Description
Creates a snapclone group using the root names for group and task names. The purpose of this
command is to create a periodic snapclone group where every execution of the group and task names
(the task name is also used as the destination virtual disk name) are unique.
If there is no host to receive permissions for a task, enter a dummy host name with permissions set to
OFF. If UsePreviousTemplateSuffix is specified, the CLI will use the template suffix name created
in the previous execution of the CreateSnapcloneGroupEx command in this CLI session (if there
was no previous execution, a new suffix is created).
NOTE:
• The UsePreviousTemplateSuffix argument must be the first argument in the argument list.
• If there is no host to receive permissions for a task, enter an empty (only the terminating zero) host
name (but not null) with permissions set to OFF.
• The task name is used as the destination virtual disk name. Ensure that the task name given in the
command is only the prefix of the unique generated name.
• If a failure occurs for any group on the list, the command stops executing (it does not process the
rest of the list).
• When run under HP-UX, the command will run correctly on a virtual disk the first time. If you run
the command again on the same virtual disk, the operation fails as long as the group is still
building. You should increase the timeout value to as long as you anticipate the building of the
group should last.
