HP StorageWorks SAN Virtualization Services Platform Manager User Guide (5697-0454, May 2010)

Host informationHBA tab
The HBA tab provides information about the HBAs through which the host is connected to the SAN.
Table 59 Host HBA tab fields
DescriptionProperty
The row number.No
The World Wide Port Name (WWPN) of the HBA, as detected by the DPM, and
sent on to the VSM upon connection to the SAN fabric.
The icon next to the name reflects the status of the HBA and the number of access
paths through which the VSM can access the HBA:
The HBA has a single access path and present status.
The HBA has a single access path and absent status.
The HBA has a single access path and failed status.
The HBA has multiple access paths and present status.
The HBA has multiple access paths and absent status.
The HBA has multiple access paths and failed status.
NOTE:
Since HP SVSP requires dual fabrics, all HBAs installed into a host should
have at least two paths from the host to the DPMs.
Information about each access path is displayed in the Access Path tab. For more
information, see HBA information--Access Path tab on page 173.
Name
The name of the host with which the HBA is associated. If the HBA is not yet re-
gistered as belonging to a UDH, this column displays the same value as the Name
column.
Group Name
The vendor of the HBA.Vendor
The status of the HBA. Possible values:
PresentFor VSM server hosts, this indicates that the host is polling to the VSM
server through this HBA, as expected. For other hosts, this indicates that the
DPMs recognize this HBA on the fabric and that the HBA is active.
Failed For a VSM server host, this means that the HBA is recognized on the
fabric but the host is not polling through the HBA to the VSM server. Therefore,
the host and the VSM server are not communicating through this HBA. For
other hosts, this means that the DPMs that expose this HBA to the VSM server
have failed.
AbsentThis indicates that the HBA is no longer visible on the fabric. For VSM
server hosts, this status is reported by the VSM server that detects that the HBA
is no longer connected. For other hosts, this status is reported to the VSM
server by DPMs. The cause could be zoning configuration, the absence of a
cable, or the absence of the HBA.
