3. Modify any of the following parameters, if required.

From the dropdown box, select one of the following modes for copying user
PiTs:
User PiT Copy mode
Copy newest PiTsWhen the time comes to start a copy of a new PiT to
a destination, the mirror service copies only the newest user PiT. This means
that some user PiTs may be skipped.
Copy all PiTsThe mirror service copies all user PiTs to the destination,
even if there is more than one waiting to be copied at a time when condi-
tions become suitable for the mirror to copy.
From the dropdown box, select one of the following:
Data Mover mode
Any nodeSelect this option to allow VSM to select the VSM server that
will handle the groups tasks.
Suggested nodeSelect this option if you want to specify a preferred VSM
server to handle the groups tasks.
Enter the number of mirror PiTs that should be maintained on the group source
element at any time.
Required source PiTs
Enter the number of PiTs above the number specified in the Required Source
PiTs field to allow before triggering an alert. If the number of mirror PiTs on
the group source element exceeds the sum of the Required Source PiTs and
the Source pits alert values, an alert event is sent, if VSM service alerts are
enabled.

Uncheck if you do not want the mirror service to create standard PiTs on the
group source element. If you uncheck Create Standard PiTs, the tasks destin-
ation elements will only be updated when you create a user PiT.
Create standard PiTs
Enter the interval at which the mirror service should check for conditions suitable
for creating a new standard PiT. Select the units from the dropdown box. The
minimum interval is 10 minutes.

4. If you selected Any node as the Data Mover mode in the Enter Async Mirror group parameters
screen, continue with step 7. If you selected Suggested node as the Data Mover mode, click
Next. The Select local data mover screen appears.
CAUTION:
If you want to change the remote data mover, you must log into the remote domain and
modify the parameters for each asynchronous mirror task from within the remote domain.
For more information on modifying tasks, see Modifying async mirror tasks on page 292.
5. If you want to change the suggested VSM server to handle the groups tasks on the local domain,
select the VSM server you want in the upper area of the screen.
6. Click Add. If you want to deselect the VSM server that you selected, select the VSM server in the
lower right area, and click Remove.
7. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
8. Click Finish. Your changes are saved.
