23. In the upper area of the screen, select the VSM server on the remote domain that you want to
handle the groups tasks on the remote side.
24. Click Add. If you want to deselect the VSM server that you selected, select the VSM server in the
lower right area, and click Remove.
25. Click Next. The Select folder screen appears.
26. If you want to add the async mirror group to a folder, enter the folder name in the Folder field
or click Browse to browse to the folder. The folder must already be created. For information about
creating folders, see Creating folders on page 317.
27. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
28. Click Finish. The async mirror group is created and the first task starts processing.
Deleting async mirror groups
Deleting an async mirror group deletes all the groups source PiTs, all the groups tasks, their destination
virtual disks and PiTs. The source element of the group is not deleted. The source PiTs are synchronized
into the source element.
To delete an async mirror group:
1. Right-click the group.
2. Select Manage > Delete. A confirmation screen appears.
3. Click Finish. The group is deleted.
Expanding async mirror groups
When a VDG is the source element of an async mirror group, you cannot add a member to the VDG
without also expanding the async mirror group. When you expand the group, you add the members
you want to add and you specify destination names for the destination virtual disks of the group.
NOTE:
Adding members to a replication set usually adds more data to be copied across the intersite link,
thus requiring more bandwidth and time. Make sure the additional bandwidth is available before
adding members to the group.
To expand an async mirror group:
1. Right-click the group.
2. Select Manage > Expand Group. The Expand Group wizard opens to the Select Virtual Disk(s)
screen, and displays the list of available virtual disks.
3. If you would like to select a virtual disk from a folder, navigate to the folder in the tree on the left
of the screen. The Select Virtual Disk(s) screen displays the list of virtual disks in the selected
folder.
4. Select a virtual disk that you want to add to the VDG.
5. Click Add. The virtual disk you selected appears in the lower right area of the screen. If you want
to deselect the virtual disk, select the virtual disk in the lower right area, and click Remove.
6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 to add more virtual disks as necessary.
7. Click Next. The Select Snapshot(s) screen appears, displaying the list of available snapshots.
