3. Do one of the following:
• To give the selected user or user group full access to the entity, check Read, Modify, and
Delete.
• To give the selected user or user group read/write access to the entity, check Read and
Modify only.
• To give the selected user or user group read-only access to the entity, check Read only.
• To give the selected user no access to the entity, clear all checkboxes.
4. Click OK. The permissions you specified are added to the entity.
Removing users or user groups from entities
An administrator can remove users or user groups without limitation. User-managers can remove users
from read-only, maintenance, and user-manager user groups. To remove users or user groups from
an entity:
1. Do one of the following:
• Right-click an entity and select Security.
•
Select an entity and click in the toolbar.
The Security dialog box appears.
2. Select a user or user group from the list.
3. Click Remove user/user group. The users or user groups are removed from the list.
4. Click OK. The Security dialog box closes.
CAUTION:
If you remove all users from an entity, the entity cannot be managed until a user is granted permission
to manage the entity.
Working with permission templates
A permission template is a set of users and/or user groups with specified access types. You can copy
a permission template to an object and the users and user groups included in the permission template
receive permission to access the object with the access types specified in the permission template.
When you create a permission template, the default user groups and their associated default permission
types are automatically included in the template. After creating a permission template, you can add
further users and user groups. You can also create new permission templates by exporting permissions
from entities.

• View the permission templates list
• View permission template information
• Create permission templates
• Copy permissions from permission templates to entities
• Export permissions from entities to new permission templates
• Modify permission templates
• Delete permission templates
